PJ's Thought for May

Posted: Thursday, May 19, 2011

I am so very blessed.  I know I say it over and over, but I am.  We have been doing all sorts of things.  In April, Westside Intermediate School held a PJ’s for PJ Day.  I was able to visit the kids during lunch to thank them for raising awareness and talk to them about the importance of a positive attitude, thank you Dawn for arranging and everyone at the school.  We attended the National Lung Cancer Partnership summit in Denver, CO.  Thank you to the entire team at N.L.C.P, you are nice people and we felt very fortunate to be invited to attend.  I was able to meet other lung cancer survivors and others who want to help in raising funding for research of lung cancer.  We toured the University of Colorado lung cancer research center and met medical specialists who are working so hard for lung cancer.   The trip was wonderful.  What else,  we launched the PJ & Oprah Favorite Things raffle, one lucky person will win it ALL.  iPad, diamond earrings, Coach Handbag, Sparkling UGGS… everything, including the 2012 VW Beetle.  You can see more information on the webpage.  www.pjaf.org  My friend Ayana planned a 5K Run / 1 Mile Walk and ¼ Mile Tot Trot for the foundation last weekend.  The weather wasn’t great, but the 5K was, thank you to all that came and supported and thank you Ayana, Brian, Buddy, The Gudelsky’s and everyone else.  I am very appreciative to you, it was a fun day.

Thank you to everyone for everything you do.  The emails, the text and face book messages are so great.  I read them all and I am so thankful to call you my friend.  I’m staying positive, my life is different, but it’s good.  The foundation is good.  I’ll sign off with something I’m really happy about, we will write that first check in less than two weeks to University of Maryland Lung Cancer Research Center.  Dr. Edelman is leading research in lung cancer and less than 2% of the dollars go to administrative fees, which is very important to us.  We want research and awareness.
Thank you for being my friend, your prayers, your thoughts, well, just everything.

I love you.
Sincerely,
PJ
